Don Sweeting, PGA

Don Sweeting, PGA serves as the PGA ExecuSearch Consultant for the Carolinas PGA Section.  

 

Sweeting earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where he was a scholarship athlete for the golf team.  Sweeting has a wide range of experience within the golf industry; he was the opening Head Professional at Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst in 1989, until moving to Richmond Virginia in 1999 to become the General Manager at Stonehenge Golf & Country Club.  His experiences include hosting an LPGA and two Buy.com championships.  Sweeting became a Regional Manager for ClubCorp with responsibility for 11 clubs from Virginia to North Florida. In 2006 he became the Executive Vice-President for Golf & Club Operations for famed Pinehurst Resort.  The Pinehurst Resort also included a large membership of over 5,500 and multiple clubhouse operations and amenities in addition to golf. In 2013, he joined the PGA of America in Career Services to assisting PGA members, employers and golf industry enthusiasts in the Carolinas and Middle-Atlantic PGA sections. 


Sweeting served a total of 10 years for the Carolinas PGA section in various elected positions serving with fellow Board of Directors.  He was also a Board member for the First Tee of the Sandhills and Rotarian becoming local chapter president in 2012. Sweeting lives in the suburbs of Augusta Georgia with his wife Lisa.
