Doug Wert, PGA serves as the ExecuSearch Consultant for the Georgia PGA Section.

Wert’s focus is to provide career coaching for PGA professionals, employment and business consultation for course owners, club managers, and the like to create significant and measurable revenue increases and deeper consumer/member engagement. Prior to starting his role as a Career Consultant, Wert was a PGA Player Engagement Consultant from 2017 - 2023.  He is a PGA Certified Professional in Golf Operations and Executive Management.

Wert feels very blessed with his 40 years of experience in the golf industry.  A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Wert is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Mississippi State University.  After graduation, he played one year on the Ben Hogan Tour.  After one year of playing, he decided to enter the business as an Assistant Golf Professional at the TPC at Eagle Trace in Coral Springs, FL.  He also served at the TPC at Sawgrass as an assistant golf professional and in 1993 was promoted to Head Professional at the TPC at Southwind in Memphis, TN. In the following years, he served as the General Manager/Director of Golf at Penn State University Golf Courses, the first Director at The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Professional Golf Management program, and Director of Golf at Oakcreek Country Club and Cider Ridge Golf Club.

Throughout his career, Wert has been very involved in serving the members and associates of the PGA of America.  He served eighteen years on the PGA Associate Education Adjunct faculty and served on the Education and Associate committees in the Philadelphia and Colorado PGA.  He also served for two terms on the Board of Directors at the Colorado PGA.  In 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000 Wert received the Philadelphia Merchandiser of the Year Award for his team’s merchandising efforts at Penn State University Golf Courses.  He was awarded the 2004 Colorado PGA Professional Development Award for his work in education.  Wert, his wife, and two boys reside in Oxford, AL.
